Long-standing Apex Management Solutions sponsored boxer, James Heneghan, has dropped in on boxing session this week at Wirral-based youth centre, the Hive.
James and Jay Shepherd took a session with the group of 10 aged 13 – 18. James described his journey into boxing from a young junior enthusiast up until his recent success having been signed to Frank Warren Boxing promotions.
Wirral-based James enjoyed his first televised fight in recent weeks as part of his three year deal. James said: “I really enjoyed our visit to the Hive. I’ve known about the Hive for some time and had heard a lot of positive things about the work they carry out with young people across Wirral.
“Boxing is something I know that they’re trying to push at the centre and is one of their most popular sports. I wanted to spend some time with the group there and share my story whilst giving them the opportunity to ask any questions about me or boxing in general. We also took a short sparring session on the pads, where they were all really enthusiastic, and very impressive!
Chris Lane of the Hive commented: “We really enjoyed our visit by James and Jay, and our young boxers, I know, where inspired by his journey. Having a young professional from Wirral here shows our young people what can be achieved through hard work and commitment.
